Welcome to the black filmmaker guide. As the film making industry becomes more accessible and easier to get into, more of us are taking the plunge into this medium and creating content from professional to amateur as a way to communicate our ideas and tell our stories. But let’s face it, not everything out there is of equal quality. I want to help. As an artist, I’ve spent years studying film making and have loved every minute of it. Like many others I have been on a quest to tell my stories the best way possible and improve the quality of black films. So when I started this journey I did it with the intent that I would learn everything I could. So that’s what brings me here.

This site sprung from a collection of notes and things I’ve learned over the years from videos, podcast, blogs and first hand experience and will attempt to teach the craft, technique, art, and business of film making so that you can make better films too.
